Join preschoolers in Connecticut for “Quiet Practice.”

Last week, when I dropped my daughter off at preschool, I decided to stay for the morning meeting. Usually this is a time for the kids to gather in a circle on a big rug, flop in the laps of favorite teachers, talk about any news they want to share, count their days on the calendar and do the weather. On this day, the head teacher said it would be different. They were going to play a special game called “Quiet Practice.” The game involved getting up from their seats, tiptoeing as quietly as possible into the next room and hiding together for two minutes.

Our team works to align services, practices, policies, and resources at the local, regional, and state levels. Commitment, care, and support for children and families must happen at all of these levels in order to build and sustain a quality early childhood system.
