This is concerning and should be given serious thought. Budget cuts may be necessary but can we really afford the risks they post to our children? Children are our future, we are growing the next generation that we will depend on to make decisions in our lives when they reach adulthood and we cannot care for our selves. If we send them the message that these short- term savings are more important then their futures what can we expect in the long term when it their turn to make these life changing decisions?
HARTFORD FOUNDATION’S EARLY CHILDHOOD COLLABORATIVE
Our team works to align services, practices, policies, and resources at the local, regional, and state levels. Commitment, care, and support for children and families must happen at all of these levels in order to build and sustain a quality early childhood system.
